Participate in AGL
Advancing Georgia's Leaders in Agriculture and Forestry develops individuals within agriculture and natural resources to become more effective spokespeople for their industries, establish strong allegiances across the state and nation and further develop their leadership skills.
Participants will be selected through nominations, applications and interviews. A class will have up to 30 individuals diverse in age, gender, ethnicity, geographic location, professional background and level of experience.
Candidates should be actively involved in Georgia's agriculture, natural resources and/or supporting industries and have demonstrated leadership potential. While there is no minimum education requirement, participants should be able to demonstrate leadership experience, work experience, and a high level of maturity.
The program consists of 10 sessions plus graduation (approximately 52 days over two years). These sessions include:
- Eight in-state sessions held throughout Georgia.
- One national session in Washington, DC and one other region of the U.S.
- One international session in 2-3 countries.
See Current Class for a schedule of session dates and locations.
Tuition for Class I is $3500 per participant. This covers approximately one-third of the costs for most meals, airfare, hotel rooms, all materials and facilities. Additional costs per participant are offset through program fundraising.
Tuition will be due prior to the start of the first session. Do not send tuition money with your application.
The application process for Class I has closed. We are not accepting applications at this time.
More information will be posted in the future. If you are interested in the program, contact email@example.com to find out when applications will open for the next class.
